Orchidaceae (Corallorhiza maculata)
One of a dozen or so native orchids in the San Juan Islands, and throughout the west. Members of this genus do not photosynthesize, and depend upon a micorhizal association with a fungus in order to obtain nutrition. Pen and ink with watercolor.
